But my heart breaks every time I hear the entrance in Mahler 5 with a weak triple tongue. I have played and performed that piece and you should, indeed, double tongue the 16th notes in the scherzo. If listeners can tell you are double tonguing then you need to work more on it. If single tonguing is fast enough then use it.
